How to Make Hummus

  1. Rinse the chickpeas and cover them with water for five hours or overnight. 
  2. Boil presoaked chickpeas on low heat until they become tender. It all depends on the quality of the peas; it can take up to three hours for chickpeas to become soft.
  3. Put the chickpeas in a large container with cold water while still hot, and separate them from the husk. Then, carefully remove the husk with a strainer.
  4. Next, add a little water, which you cooked chickpeas in the blender, and blend them with chickpeas and blend until smooth.
  5. Add tahini paste while continuing to beat.
  6. Add salt and spices.
  7. In the end, pour olive oil into the blending mixture to make the hummus smoother. 
  8. After blending the essential ingredients, taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning. Add more lemon juice, salt, or garlic to suit your taste.
  9. Place hummus in the refrigerator to chill before serving

Tips

  •   Tahini should be well-stirred and not separated.
  •  If your hummus is too thick, add water in a tablespoon until you achieve your desired consistency. Be careful not to add too much water, as it can make the hummus runny.
  •  Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor. Adjust the quantity based on your preference for
  • tanginess. 
  •  Use fresh garlic cloves for a robust flavor. You can adjust the amount to your liking, but start with a small amount and add more if needed. 
  • Use high-quality extra-virgin olive oil for the best flavor. You’ll also need some for blending and drizzling on top.
  • Store hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to a week.
